Margaret Leland
Name: Margaret Leland
Birth date: Aestas 06th, 1804 Age as of 1826: 22 Race: Ilkhatal/Killer History: Margaret was a writer before being recruited to the IFM by Kerry McNair's sister, Caroline. Margaret's parents were both tavern owners struggling to pay the heavy taxes imposed by the Shivians. Margaret ran away from home at the age of twelve and was adopted into the McNair family by Caroline. She seemed to have joined the IFM because of a school girl crush she had on Kerry-one which was not reciprocated. In fact, judging from a letter he sent to Caroline. Kerry seemed more annoyed by her presence than anything else. Despite Kerry's misgivings, Margaret soon won the appreciation of Marcus Galloway by running a number of dangerous missions. He respected her so much that he included her during the assassination of the Shivian Chief Police (she served as the distraction as Marcus pulled the trigger). She escape arrest by grabbing the first Killer she saw and making out with him in the doorway of an apartment complex. The police ran right by without even noticing her. Not only had her quick thinking saved her life, it introduced her to her future husband Sean Leland. |
At first, it seemed that Sean was infatuated with Margaret, while she saw him as an amusing friend, but sometime in the 1820s they fell in love and she convinced him to join the IFM. They both became financial officers, infiltrated the Shivian banks, and established contact with the Fathers of Liberty, a Killer freedom organization in Ferdern. Margaret married Sean in 1824 and she was pregnant by 1826. Out of safety for their unborn child, both Sean and Margaret agreed to move to Shiva to keep an eye on the banks and on the KLA, led by Siegfried Von Hult. Because of her condition, Margaret was not able to contribute as much as she used to, but both Sean and Marcus continued to respect her abilities and actively sought her advice.

"I realized I couldn't out run them, so I turned a corner, grabbed the first Killer I saw, shoved him up against the doorway of a nearby building, and made out with him. Thank Amal it was a man otherwise I would have drawn more attention to myself than desired." |
